Richmond Library and the Library Café will be closed from 6pm Friday 11 July, reopening 9.30am Monday 11 August 2025.
The closure is due to building strengthening work being undertaken.
If Richmond is your usual library branch here's what you need to know:
Please collect your available holds before 6.00pm Friday 11 July.
There's no need to return your items until we reopen but there will be after-hours returns available if you really need to bring the books back.
Any borrowed items will have their due dates adjusted. You don’t have to worry about getting them back until after 11 August.
Our digital library is available 24/7 and library team members can assist you with this, just not 24/7! We'll be working off site 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and will respond to messages during this time.
Library Wi-Fi will still be available outside of the building.
You can use your Tasman library card at our Motueka, Tākaka and Murchison libraries. If you haven't visited these branches then now's a good time to treat yourself to a roadie or bus trip.
Tasman residents are eligible for membership of Nelson Library. You will need to sign up for a Nelson Library card. But make sure you come back :-)
