The Summer Reading Adventure began on the 18th December. Children were able to pop into any Tasman District Library to collect their Summer Reading Adventure Packs. The purpose of the Summer Reading Adventure is to get children reading for pleasure, to discover the fun and excitement that not only books bring but other types of reading material such as audiobooks.
A total of 413 Summer Reading Packs were collected.
Throughout the summer holidays children were able to attend a variety of events that supported their summer reading adventure. Children went on I Spy adventures and storywalks at local parks and holiday spots.
To escape the sun children and whānau were able to challenge themselves with Lego Fun or could develop their creativity at the Get Crafty events and the create your own Nature Journal event.
742 children across the district participated in events at their local library. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from children and their grown-ups. We are excited to see where this adventure takes us next year.
