The longlist for the 2024 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards has been announced. It includes nominees for the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction, and the General Non-Fiction Award, as well as the Mary and Peter Biggs Award for Poetry, and the Booksellers Aotearoa New Zealand Award for Illustrated Non-Fiction.
Twelve of the 44 longlisted books are by first-time authors, and they are published by a record number of 20 individual publishing houses across the motu.
