Your Library Can Help
Tuesday 31 March 2020
Our library buildings might be closed, but we're still able to provide you with many of the resources and services that you love us for.
We can help at this challenging time in a number of ways. For a start, if you're not already a library member, you can sign up for a Digital Membership and start accessing our online resources straight away.
Even though you can’t get to your local library you can still access your library account and a range of library services and resources right here on the library website.
- Watch movies and documentaries on Kanopy.
- Download e-Books and e-Audio.
- Read newspapers and magazines from around the world with PressReader.
- Research your family with Ancestry.
- Ask a Librarian for research assistance.
You can access our online resources for free through the e-Library section of the website. If you have forgotten your PIN, you can email us and we'll reset the PIN for you. Our email address is library@tasman.govt.nz.
Please also keep in mind that:
- The returns bins at the libraries are closed. Just keep any library books you have at home.
- Your issues will be extended, so don't worry about overdues or fines.
- Please disregard any notices receive about overdues or fines from 23 March. Fines will not accrue while the library is closed.
It’s important to make sure that your source for information about Covid-19 is accurate and reliable. Don’t rely on social media or word of mouth as this can lead to unnecessary anxiety and the spread of misinformation. The best place to find out what Covid-19 is, how to protect yourself and others from it, and where you can get the resources you need if you require help, is the New Zealand government’s official Covid-19 website.
But first, take a deep breath and relax. You’ve got this!
