Your Library At Level 2

Sunday 6 September 2020

We’ve done this before and we can to do it again. Kia kaha everyone!

At present we are still at Level 2. We will update this information to reflect changes to the situation as they arise.

This information applies to all four of our branches – Motueka, Murchison, Takaka and Richmond – unless otherwise specified.

Here’s what you need to know about your library at Level 2.

Key times and information you need to know:

  • At Richmond Library, only the Petrie carpark returns bin will be open. The Queen St returns bin will remain closed until further notice.

  • Richmond Library will be open 9.30am - 6pm Monday to Friday, Saturday 9.30am - 1.00pm and Sunday 1.00pm - 4.00pm during Level 2.

  • Takaka and Motueka Libraries will be open 9.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and until 6.00pm on Fridays. They are open 9.30am - 1.00pm on Saturdays.

  • Murchison Library is open from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.15pm-4.00pm, Tuesday to Friday.

The health and safety of our staff and library community is a concern for us. So please expect the following safety measures:

  • We invite you to visit the library for short (up to 30 minute) visits.

  • We will be limiting the number of customers that are in the library to enable physical distancing. Please queue outside the library entrance with 2m spacing until you are invited to enter.

  • At Richmond Library, the only public entry will be through the Queen St entrance. The Petrie carpark entrance will remain closed except for mobility access.

  • We are a contact tracing site. Please scan the NZ Covid Tracer QR code at the entrance or have your library card ready to be scanned by a library staff member. If you don’t have a library card then we will record your details.

  • We’d like just one family member to come into the library at a time (within reason of course – parents with small children and no alternative caregivers are an exception). Children must stay within arms distance of the adult and not interact with other customers. All people who enter the building need to be contact traced, including children.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver while in the library. High School / College students are able to visit the library without an adult.

  • Our online resources are available and we encourage you to access our e-Books, audiobooks and movies without visiting the physical library.

We will update this information as the situation evolves. Please check regularly for updates.

Kia kaha everyone. We've got this!
