We're upgrading our internet service

Friday 12 July 2019

In August Tasman District Libraries are upgrading our internet computers. We'll be switching to Chromebooks, so the internet computers will look and work a little differently.

As well as fixed Chromebook stations there will be a number of mobile Chromebooks available at Richmond, Motueka and Takaka libraries. Customers will be able to borrow them for use anywhere within the library building. The new equipment also includes colour printers at all library locations.

Libraries Manager Glennis Coote says, "The free WiFi and internet service are invaluable. We're looking forward to modernising the service and providing a wider range of options with more flexibility for library customers".

The Library is part of the Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK). A number of other libraries in the network have also upgraded their internet service recently with great results.

Library staff will be on hand to offer assistance to customers interested in learning more about the new chromebooks and printers.

The libraries will change over to the new equipment during the week of August 5-8.  There will be no internet PCs and no printing facilities available on the changeover dates shown below. However WiFi will still be available for people who bring their own devices.
