Most Downloaded e-Books of 2013

Well-known and much-loved fiction authors Michael Connelly, Lee Child and Nora Roberts prove to be as popular in e-book format as they are in paperback.

During 2013, Tasman District Library readers downloaded a total of 6113 e-books and e-audio books from OverDrive, the library's e-book site. Connelly, Child and Roberts were the three most downloaded authors. 

Readers are also taking advantage of the convenience of e-books to explore lesser known authors and new genres. New York Times bestseller author Ransom Riggs and Little Coffee Shop of Kabul author Deborah Rodriguez make the list of the top five books downloaded by Tasman District Library readers in 2013.  Ransom Riggs uses old photographs as an important part of the narrative in his book.

An increasing number of readers are opting to borrow e-books and e-audio books from the library with e-book issues up almost 200 % from 2012.  

The authors most popular with Tasman Library e-book readers in 2013 were:

  2. Lee Child
  3. Jodi Picoult
  4. Nora Roberts
  5. Fern Michaels.

The e-books with the most issues in 2013 were: 

  1. The Four Corners of the Sky by Michael Malone
  2. Angels Flight by Michael Connelly
  3. The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez
  4. Sweet Revenge by Nora Roberts
  5. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
