May is New Zealand Music Month

Thursday 11 May 2017

Originally the month of May was a period for encouraging radio to play more local tunes. Now it is a 31-day celebration of homegrown talent across the length and breadth of the country.

Our libraries are supporting New Zealand music month with numerous events across the District.

There is also a great selection of New Zealand music available in the libraries. The New Zealand CDs are readily identified by a yellow kiwi sticker on the top right corner of the cover.

Or type New Zealand music into the search-box in the catalogue, limit the search to 'audio disc' and 'music sound recording' and see just how much Kiwiana music is available.

Celebrate New Zealand Music Month with a new music discovery or play your faves from the past.
