Kaitiakitanga at Richmond Library

Thursday 19 September 2019

In the final event of our Focus On The Environment talks, Renee Thomas will be speaking about mana whenua iwi, the concept of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and what it means for Māori and the wider community.

Renee sits on multiple boards, and is currently studying towards a Masters in Māori Indigenous Leadership through Aotahi University of Canterbury.  It is through this study alongside her role as Kaitiaki for Wakatū Incorporation that her passion for the environment has come to the fore.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the environmental context from the perspective of Māori.

Renee’s talk is on Thursday 26 September, from 12.00pm-1.00pm in the Constance Barnicoat room at Richmond Library.
