Family History Month 2017

August is Family History month and the Richmond and Motueka Libraries are running a number of family history classes and special events to celebrate. These include:
Some Richmond Library events
- Guest speaker Darryl Gallagher from Nelson Provincial Museum will be running a workshop on caring for your photographs and photo albums.
- A craft session for 7 – 11 year olds will have children using cardboard to construct 3D models of the buildings that are in Queen Street.
- Look at old photos of Richmond or chat with others about how you remember Richmond in the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Thursday 17 August, 10.00 am to 12.00 pm (bookings not required for this event).
Some Motueka Library events

David Kemp will be giving a presentation on a pioneer family - the Roils of Stoke and the Aorere, who arrived in Nelson on The Bolton in 1842. (Bookings are not required for this event).
- You’re invited to share your memories about Motueka Library. These will be included in a 160th anniversary folder of photos, articles and memorabilia. Pick up a form at Motueka Library or we can email it to you.
All events are free, but spaces are limited. Please contact the library to book your place.
