Celebrate Sunday Opening at Richmond Library

Tuesday 8 January 2019

Join us at Richmond Library for our first day of Sunday opening, 1.00pm-4.00pm on Sunday 20 January!

Last year we carried out a Library User survey in which participants told us they wanted Richmond Library to be open seven days a week. You asked, so we’re delivering. From Sunday 20 January, Richmond Library will be open from 1.00pm-4.00pm every Sunday.

Libraries Manager Glennis Coote says, “The same great customer service, books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, free internet, space to work, study and meet friends, that you’ve come to know and expect from Richmond Library will now be available on Sundays, as well as every other day of the week. We’re excited to be able to offer wider access to the heart of our community and look forward to seeing some new faces in the library.”

Sunday 20 January will be the first Sunday that Richmond Library will be opening to the public. To celebrate, Tasman District Mayor Richard Kempthorne will be on hand to greet the first visitors through the door, and there will be balloons, a lucky dip for kids, giveaways, cake and more.

There will also be the opportunity to enter a prize draw for library members.

See you there!
