Tales of Tasman's Early Women

Wednesday 26 September 2018

Storm Nathan, Library Assistant at Motueka Library, will be visiting Richmond Library to deliver a talk about two of Tasman's pioneering women of the 1850s.

"I fondly refer to the first woman I talk about as simply Mrs Bryant," says Storm. "Her story is simple and a common one for women moving to the region in the 1850s. I will also tell a few stories from the life of Mary Wallace (nee Coster). Her story is laden with the adventures and heartbreak that colonial life brought."

Storm's talk is part of our Suffrage 125 celebrations - celebrating 125 years since New Zealand women gained the vote.

Adventures and Heartbreak With Storm Nathan, 12.00pm-1.00pm, Thursday 27 September, Richmond Library.

Free. Bookings not required.
