Prolific British Detective Writer Dies

British detective writer PD James who was best known for her mystery series featuring policeman and poet Adam Dalgleish, has died.

“It is with great sadness that the family of author P D James, Baroness James Holland Park OBE announce that she died peacefully at her home in Oxford” publisher Faber and Faber said.

Her editor, Charles Elliot says her books were in class of their own. “They were consistently entertaining, yet as well-written and serious as any fiction of our time.”

P D James was 94.
