We can help you unravel the mysteries of using a computer - and it won't cost you a cent.

LogoSteppingUP  is a national digital literacy initiative developed by Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa. All classes are free. Classes may be cancelled if minimum registrations are not reached.

Learn how to buy and sell goods using TradeMe:

This class includes:

  • Creating a TradeMe account
  • Browsing TradeMe to locate items of interest for sale
  • Save auctions to your watchlist
  • Sending questions to sellers
  • Reserve prices and auto-bidding

Prerequisites:

Basic computer skills are essential

Participants must have a current email account to participate in this class (for example Gmail)

- don't forget to bring your email password.

Understand how to use Vistaprint website, learn to upload photos from your computer,

create and customise a photo book for printing.

This class includes:

  • Creating a photo book
  • Learning to use Vistaprint
  • Getting the photo book ready for printing

Bring a USB stick with stored photos to use during this lesson

  • How to send records home from the library

Learn how to use Google to find information on the internet.

  • The different components of the World Wide Web
  • Using the Google search engine

Digital banking

The purpose of this class is to provide knowledge and confidence to people moving

into online banking. No personal financial information is required to participate.

This class includes:

  • Getting to know banking online
  • How to recognise the signs of an online scam and what to do
  • How to protect yourself online
  • Starting to navigate through an online banking platform
  • Registering for online banking with your bank
